Temporary BBQ and fire-pit restrictions

To protect our guests, team, wildlife and the surrounding Somerset countryside, the following are temporarily prohibited at Bucklegrove Holiday Park:
- Fire pits
- Disposable BBQs
- Low-standing BBQs
- Open fires and other outdoor flames
Standard raised BBQs remain permitted, but guests must use them with particular caution:
- Place your BBQ on stable, level ground and keep it well off the grass.
- Position it well away from tents, awnings, caravans, vehicles, fences, trees, hedges and dry vegetation.
- Keep a bucket of water, sand or suitable fire extinguisher nearby.
- Never leave a lit or hot BBQ unattended.
- Do not use a BBQ during strong or gusty winds.
- Never use petrol or other accelerants to light or revive it.
- Keep children, pets and outdoor games away from the cooking area.
- Extinguish the BBQ completely after use and allow all charcoal and ashes to cool before disposal.
- Never place hot charcoal or ashes in a general-waste bin.
- Never take a BBQ inside a tent, awning, caravan, cabin or holiday home.
These temporary restrictions will be reviewed regularly and adapted as weather and ground conditions change. Please speak with our Reception team for the latest information.
If you discover a fire, however small, move to a safe location and call 999 immediately. Once it is safe, please also notify Reception on 01749 870261.
Thank you for helping us keep Bucklegrove safe.
