Where Are We?

Important note for GPS users: Please do not rely solely on the route provided by your sat-nav as some of the local lanes are not suitable for large/towing vehicles.

From the M5 Motorway: Leave at Junction 22, take the A38 north (signed Cheddar). As you come into the village of Cross take a right turn onto the A371. Stay on this road through Cheddar and Draycott (towards Wells). Continue through the village of Rodney Stoke, (passing the Rodney Stoke Inn on your right) up the hill & the Park is on the left after the ‘s’ bend. Please use second entrance.

From the A303: At Wincanton turn on to the A371 towards Shepton Mallet. Continue through Shepton Mallet on the A371 towards Wells. Upon reaching Wells take the second exit off the roundabout, proceed through the first set of lights, bearing left at the second lights (signed Cheddar). Continue along the A371 though the villages of Haybridge, Easton and Westbury-sub-Mendip. The Park is approx 1/2 mile on the right after leaving Westbury-sub-Mendip.

Rail/Bus: A local bus service stops directly outside of the Park. The route runs from Weston-super-Mare train station, through to Wells via Cheddar and local towns.

Please note:

Due to a temporary road closure at Draycott on the A371 between Cheddar and Wookey we have a few alternative recommendations to reach Wookey Hole. These routes take you through beautiful historic Somerset countryside and add very little time to your journey.

If heading from Weston-super-Mare or the North take the A38 towards Cheddar as usual, then turn right at Lower Weare onto Notting Hill Way to Wedmore. From Wedmore take the Wells Road B3139 to Wells. From Wells take the A371 to Bucklegrove.

Alternatively from Brean, Berrow and Burnham on Sea you can take the B3139 via Wedmore to Wells. From Wells take the A371 to Bucklegrove

From Cheddar take the B3151 to Wedmore. From Wedmore take the Wells Road B3139 towards Wells. From Wells take the A371 to Bucklegrove
